Ten Rules for Faking It by Sophie Sullivan

2.0

Ugggghhhhh this book started out so strong and then just lost all of that as it went along. I loved getting to read about a character with anxiety as that's something I can really relate to. Throughout the story, I really appreciated how the author handled anxiety and seemed very accurate at least to my own experiences. Now we dive into what I didn't like about this book.

This is essentially a Bachelorette knock off. This plot both took over the plot but also wasn't in it enough. I think the author was just trying to do too much with this story and so neither storyline had enough time to fully grow. Personally, I wish the author made it more of a straight up Bachelorette story or completely took it out of the book. Everly is really working on herself after a humiliating breakup and that easily could have been the focus of the book. At least for me, the plot really just fell flat.

Not going to talk about it much but where is the smut?? Literally not even a fade to black scene...

Overall, this book was fine but not something I'd recommend. Needed to pick a plot and just generally be more interesting.
