INCREIBLEMENTE GENIAL. Mil veces mejor que el anterior. No puedo esperar para saber cómo termina la historia -el mes que viene cuando pueda comprar el siguiente libro-

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, Children’s for me giving this book to review.

Kira has found a cure for RM but it is not easily accessible as it means using the partials, now she is on a search across the country with Samm, Heron and an unhinged computer expert called Afa for a cure for both the humans and partials as well as answers to who she is and who know about her. Meanwhile back on Long Island, Marcus and the rest of humanity are on the edge of war with the partials, a war which they know they cannot win, will Kira and Samm find the answers before it is too late for both races.

Fragments is the second instalment in the Partials series, which is a different but ok YA dystopia. This story does drag a bit as it focuses too much on the journey to find answers and less on the actual action.

More so in this book than the last I could not connect to any of the characters and did not really care about what happened to them. Also I did not like the love triangle developing between Kira, Samm and Marcus as I am so bored of them in YA books.

Fragments is an ok book and I hope it gets better in the next one. I would recommend this book to people who enjoyed the first book Partials.

This was the second book in the Partials trilogy. I’ll admit, I enjoyed book one and the extra novella more than book two, but it was still good. The point of view gets split, and we have multiple people all off on different adventures, fighting and trying to find out truths. I was not a fan of Marcus in the first book which was all Kira’s POV, but when I followed him on his own this time, I got a much better opinion of him. In the second book, everything is in chaos and upheaval, and by the end I think we’re ready to figure things out for the last book in the trilogy. I’m looking forward to it!

This is another series I thought I was reading ironically but I’m now VERY INVESTED IN???? The entire premise of this series is such an intriguing ethical dilemma that is making me ask really deep questions that I don’t have the answers to. And the last 50 pages had me GASPING! Gasping in PUBLIC! He really built the tension and delivered an amazing cliffhanger with this book, and I’m pumped to read the last book in this trilogy. I didn’t know how badly I needed to scratch the dystopian itch, and boy howdy this series is DELIVERING.

Since I adored Partials my expectations for this one were huge! Thankfully Dan Wells wrote an amazing sequel which I loved from the very beginning.

Kira is so my kind of protagonist! She is strong, but sensitive. She sticks to her opinions and isn't afraid of being herself. She's also very independent but she's getting better at letting other people have a say. She goes through a lot in Fragments and starts doubting herself at some point, but still manages to keep her integrity and her hopes intact. I simple love her. Her journey with Afa, Heron and Samm is super exciting and shows the reader just how screwed up the world has gotten.

Both Kira's journey and Marcus' battle 'back home' has surprises and twist I did not anticipate, but it was awesome! If a writer knows how to surprise the reader, I'm a fan! The humor in the story is just as great as the last one and especially Marucs was hilarious (I may be biased, since I really like him and his part in the story).

Marcus froze, suddenly realizing why the voice sounded so familiar. "Kira?" "Hey, babe," said Kira. "Miss me?" "What?" Marcus stumbled for words. "Where are you? What's going on? Why is Dr. Morgan looking for me?" "Probably because she wants me," said Kira. "The good news is, she has no idea where I am." "Well that's a relief," said Haru derisevely. "I'm so glad Kira's safe." Marcus thumbed the radio button. "Haru says hi."

The entire story is intriguing and even though a lot of questions are answered, just as many new ones pop up - it left me wanting more. The pace is a bit slow at times without the story being boring. The story is, however, a bit more detailed and thorough about the science and the reasons behind the crisis than most in the YA dystopian genre, but that only made me love it more.

The Partials series is quickly becoming one of my favorites!

A great follow up to the first in the series. Ended on a cliffhanger which made me need to read the third instalment straight away.

Great book.

I was worried that after how amazing the first book in this trilogy was that this book would not be able to live up to its high standards. At first it seemed as though this was going to be the case as the first half of the book was a bit slow going with very little happening other than Kira travelling through ruined cities and Long Island being invaded by Partials. However the second half of the book more than made up for this with the
Spoilerdiscovery of another human settlement, all of the answers about the Break that you wanted so badly and the reappearance of Nandita revealing that Ariel and the others are also a new breed of Partial.

This is one of those books that while people are dying all over the place the main characters seem to have an uncanny ability to survive the danger or recover from being shot.
SpoilerSure Samm, Heron and Kira are Partials, but Haru and Marcus are doing a very good job of surviving when the rest of the humans around them are repeatedly wiped out.

I don’t even mind the love triangle that developed in this book. I don’t know whether that is because Marcus is so far away in this book or that Kira didn’t seem that into Marcus in the first place or whatever. But I’d rather she ends up with Samm anyway.
I can’t wait to see what
SpoilerIsolde’s baby is like; the first half human half partial! That was certainly an interesting twist. However, rather than bringing the two species together I wouldn’t be too surprised if either side tried to kill it for being different and an unknown variable.
The whole idea of the two species needing to work together to survive is great but I think it is more likely to backfire and wipe everyone out. I am certainly interested in where Wells is going to take this story in the final book and cannot wait to read it.
This book receives five stars, despite its slow beginning, just because the ending was so good.
