4.5 stars! cover: amazing. book: amazing. title: AMAZING. i thought the title was so good before i read the book, but by the end, it has a double meaning that i didn’t think of while reading and i had to stop reading to freak out about how GENIUS IT IS. the only reason it wasn’t a full 5 stars was the pacing. it felt a little long at parts and started to drag in the middle, but picked up at the end.

i’m thinking ya mysteries just aren’t my thing. it’s a real shame i didn’t like this more because i loved Ace of Spades by her. the beginning started out so strong but as i continued i found myself bored. there was a lack of any real stakes and it was feeling very unrealistic. ngl i should’ve dnf’ed after that one kid decided to keep one of the hamsters because literally wtf was that.

I enjoyed the audiobook for this one so much. The narrator was excellent and it was nice being able to hear the different accents.
This book was full of so many twists and turns. The characters were interesting and Basil was my favorite. It was an intriguing commentary on the patriarchy and how it can permeate in the education system. Some of the stories were all too real.

I loved this book for many reasons, I was engaged the entire time and I feel like it brings light to real issues that teens face when dealing with social media. This author has a great writing style and I'm interested in reading more of her books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries/thrillers!
