great ending to this duology, but hated how the main character was barely in this book despite being the main character???

I hoped to be more invested in the characters in this installment, and my wish was granted. I loved the relationship between the two main characters from the get-go, but I enjoyed the rest of the characters’ developments in this installment. The journey they all went on together was intense and action-filled, and I enjoyed the magic system that they were fighting in the entire time. Great duology overall, and I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in fantasy that doesn’t want anything too complicated or romance heavy to start out with.

Two twisted crowns did not disappoint! I am so sad to not read anymore on Nightmare and Elspeth, and have another adventure to read. You learn so much more about The Shepard King and how everything came to be, you finally meet the Lady of the woods. Elspeth gets bits and pieces here and there, but the Shepard King (Nightmare) gets his balance once and for all. I loved Elm and Ione’s story line, what amazing great supporting characters. You still get the romance with them and the love of Ravyn and Elspeth shines through. Wow, I don’t think I’ll ever walk through a forest or wooded area and never not think of this book. Bravo Ms. Rachel Gillig, superb storytelling.
