Cotton Malone is a new favorite character of mine. This book was well written and even though I thought I had it figured out, it surprised me a few times.

Then I read the author's note about the real foundations of parts of the book and I was even more impressed. This series is going to be awesome.

My biggest thought in reading through this book was, "I wish Dan Brown had written this". The Templar Legacy is a book in the vein of religious conspiracies similar to the ones Brown wrote in his wildly popular series, but without its fast pace and irresistible pull. At least for me.

Lots of explicative history, but I liked it a lot anyway. The setting in the Languedoc was especially interesting because my sister and her family just spent a month there. I wonder if they saw all the places in the book. I'll be checking out more Cotton Malone books. It's good to have another character to follow.
