denk dat ik deze leuker had gevonden als ik em had gelezen ipv geluisterd. gewoon heeel veel herhaling door de inner dialogue van het hoofdpersonage, waar je wat sneller overheen leest en wel frustrerend is als je luistert. vond het plot wel grappig maar ook daar wat frustrerende dingen: plot was 90% afhankelijk van miscommunicatie en daar ga ik niet zo goed op

maaaar nogmaal: wel leuk bedacht en kan wel je ding zijn als je je aan bovenstaande dingen niet ergert

Dial A for Aunties was not for me. It felt so juvenile and everyone was a caricature. The aunties were so stereotypical and over the top, it was starting to get annoying. It was honestly so boring and was a pain to get through. The plot seemed like a mess and the murder was treated as a joke.

Okay, I gave this book 3 stars but it really deserves 3.5 stars but I don’t know how to do that on Goodreads. Overall, this book was pretty good. The main plot line was hilarious and like comedy of errors. Very reminiscent of “Weekend at Bernie’s”. The high jinx that go along with the dead body are down right ridiculous, but funny. There were many plots in this book and everything kept unfolding like a layers of an onion. You have the main plot of the dead body, then there is a romantic element between Meddy and Nathan, lastly there is a plot regarding the stolen items at the wedding and the ending with Maureen and Jackie was so odd and out of nowhere for me. Anyway, I think the book is decent, I’d recommend it but I won’t be reading the second book. It would not hold my attention and I’m not a fan of the writing style.
