Very engaging first issue that was paired with good art. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This is an interesting start to a new series. I’ll be honest with you and tell you that the yellow cover is totally what caught my attention at first, but I’m glad it made me take a closer look at it. I can safely say that I haven’t read anything quite like this. I’ll be curious to see how they follow this one up, and which direction this all ends up going.

a decently strong and straightforward start to a series. we don't know much about the characters' personal lives, feelings, and motivations yet, but we understand that their decisions in any given situation are largely influenced by survival. we know the landscape is post-apocalyptic and there are numerous threats out there in the desert wilderness, but we don't know exactly who those threats are or why the midwest has turned into a barren desert. for an introduction, it draws you in without holding your hand and leaves you wanting to find answers to every question it presents.
