I will now commence re-reading Little Women and watch Little Women the movie!

Tthis is the only book by Brooks that I don't like. I think she wrote this for sensationalism. Everyone knows that March is based on Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, which was based on Alcott's family. Brooks states that she heavily researched "March" before writing it. But she admits to making up one part, which seems to be the basis for March's abolitionist ways. I strongly disagree with the author's motive and method, therefore I hated the book.

this is a very interesting concept indeed i can see why people would enjoy it.

but i am a diehard little women stan so i think i can’t really love or support any additions not absolutely canon to miss alcott herself,,, plus mr march did piss me off sometimes. i cant believe an affair was attempted to be included into the march narrative especially the PARENTS. please this isn’t a colleen hoover series.

This was a really interesting book written from the point of view of the fictional Mr. March of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. It mainly encompasses his experiences as a chaplain in the army during the Civil War, but also shares stories of his past. I really enjoyed this book, it was a quick read and well researched. It took me a few chapters before I really got absorbed in the book, but otherwise it was great.

Mr March was a much more complicated person than you might have guessed from your reading of Little Women years ago. Really enjoyed this. Read it a long time ago but just now adding it as I'm currently in love with her writing!

Really, really good. An awesome telling of the Civil War through the eyes of Mr. March, the father of the Little Women. Pulitzer-worthy indeed.
