I got really into this series as soon as I started reading it, but I feel like The Cursed was a bit of a letdown. I still enjoyed it, but there was a lot of eye rolling because it just felt so ridiculous. It feels like every single supernatural creature and myth is being crammed into the story, and I really felt like that took away from it instead of enhancing it.

I enjoyed that Gabrielle came more into her powers, and is getting closer to be a full-fledged vampire. I thought she was a bit of a badass in this one, which was nice to see. That being said, her relationship with Andre is lacking. It's either creepy because he's 700 years old and insanely controlling or so sickeningly sweet that I have to try to not gag. I don't really feel like there's any in between. Oliver grew on me a lot in this book, but it was kind of a shame that Leeanne wasn't in it.

Overall, I wasn't as enthralled with this one as I was the other books in the series. The ending wasn't that great to me. Sure it sets up a lot for the next book, but it just seemed kind of lame to me. Not sure if I'm going to continue to read or not.

Oh, this was such a great read, I'm so glad that I read it back to back with book 2, and now to read book 4!

3.8 stars Where are our half stars ratings, Goodreads?!
There was a lot of action in this book and I liked it. The relationship between Gabrielle and Andre is a bit annoying at times, but I can get over that.

*Review to come!*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I must confess that Andre and Callie are too cute together and the plot in this book with the victims along the ley lines was exciting (and a little bit freaky ><) I love the fact that we have a mix of several of my favorite myths that intermingle with references to Moirai but also Persephone ... And Oliver makes me laugh so much xD
BUT even if I really like this series, it's not a favorite, not like the story of Des and Callie ... It's nothing but a few things that annoy me : Caleb who frankly is very useless, Callie who still continues to have stupid reactions (make a deal with the devil = bad idea, do not respect a deal with the devil = BAD BAD IDEA !!), Andre who sometimes annoys me (especially the scene where he is jealous of Oliver ... HELLO !!!) ...
Finally, I will read the next book anyway because I'm curious =)
A lot more action than the first two, but now Andre and Gabrielle's relationship has become annoying. Well, actually, Gabrielle is more annoying than ever. Andre keeps referring to her as "Soulmate", which is about as weird as my boyfriend calling me "Girlfriend" or my Dad calling me "Daughter." She has a name, so Andre should use it.
SpoilerAnd now, she's fated two two men?! She can't be that special. It's too much.
Nevertheless, I am still going to read the last two books. Although I am not as excited about the fourth one. I can't possibly imaging how much more overbearing Gabrielle can become.
There is something about "The Unearthly"- series that makes them impossible for me to put down. It almost feels like a guilty pleasure. These books aren't any literary master pieces, they aren't deep and profund in any way, but they are captivating, easy to read and the (supernatural) world building is both easy to grip and complex at the same time. I can't wait to read the next part!
