A cute little read, the artwork was cool and I enjoyed the story. Makes me want to get back into watching Buffy again

I saw this cover art and was immediately drawn to it. Plus, who diesn't love Buffy?!?! Upon reading this series debut though, I wasn't very impressed. The graphics are more anime, I wanted more along the lines of the cover. Plus... I think I'm a little too old to be reading about this level of high school drama. Granted it was cool to see Giles and Buffy and Willow and the whole gang in a new storyline, but I don't know if I liked it enough to follow it up with the next in the series. We'll see.

A very slim graphic novel that doesn't really add a whole lot to the Buffy story. I'm not sure why this would be released now -- it has no relation to the ongoing stories from the Buffy seasons in comic form. Buffy: The High School Years has a manga look to the characters, tells a pretty non-descript story about Buffy, Willow, and Xander, and takes all of about 5 minutes to read. I'm glad I didn't spend money on this -- thank you, public library!

This was 100% terrible. The worst Buffy comic ever written and drawn. The art was awful and the storyline was silly. I hated it.

Faith Erin Hicks got the characters' voices right, but I couldn't see Buffy, Willow, or Xander in the art.

The magna stylized art was a bit weird. They have artists who do the season continuation who match the series feel. The ending on this was rushed. One of the best parts of Buffy and gang fighting is how they make-up. Spike rushing to yell at Buffy but seeing she's upset and letting the anger flow away or Willow talking to Buffy about guilt as Buffy is being strangled

Captures the tone and feel of Buffy season 1. Bonus points for the Sweet Valley High-esque cover.
