A Conspiracy of Ravens is an adorable graphic novel. It is short, holds an excellent story, and has great illustrations. Anyone looking for a cute little read will most certainly be able to find it here!

Art: 5 stars, love Thompson's style
Story: 3 stars, tried to do too much in a short space. Wish it could have been expanded and let us get to know the characters a bit more one at a time

A middle-grade graphic novel about magic, friendship, Corvidae, and courage, this was a fun little story to read on a weekend afternoon. The plot was a little more fragmented than I am accustomed to seeing in graphic novels, which is the only reason I didn’t rate this 4/5 stars.

This really needed to be longer and better developed, at points I thought I'd missed pages. It's an interesting idea and what was there was enjoyable but the girls powers and friendship needed more development and I had no idea what was going on with the colonel or the snake guy.

The ending kind of ruined this for me. Everything was really good, I liked the art and the characters and the plot was interesting, but the ending went off the rails. There was suddenly a villain introduced that had been around for 100 years, there was a random mix of magic and technology that wasn't explained, and these girls that had no idea how to use their powers were able to hold back the villain.

If this had been split into two volumes, one where we're introduced to the character and the story and another when the villainous stuff kicks off, it would have flowed better. Instead we get the last 20 pages jam-packed full of action with no explanations.

This was a fun read, although I must say that I did get lost along the way a bit.
