I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. I felt like there was less random stupidity with the characters - less of them missing a totally obvious thing right in front of their face - and the Alec situation played out better than I could have hoped it would.

I'm not going to say I like him, or even that I want him with Eve. But I will say that I believe what he said, I believe that he's trying, and most of all I am gratified that Eve didn't just roll over and let him walk all over her.

I've said this in reviews for other books that have this problem (the strong female lead hurling herself repeatedly at someone who treats her like complete garbage): it isn't that the alpha-hole thing doesn't ever work for me. It can. But it only works for me when the lead female has the self-respect to stand up to the asshole. To not pant after him and forgive everything because she's so eager to get into his pants ... to not let sex wipe the slate clean. If they work it out as equals, that can be an amazing story.

My one quibble is that Tyler treated Eve as if she was half the problem - there was one time when he yelled for them to both stop acting like children, and I wanted to punch him in the throat. That's not fair, and it is a gross mischaracterization - Eve was the victim of all his bullshit. They weren't both to blame. And Tyler putting it that way made me worry that Eve was going to roll over and apologize when she did nothing wrong.

Happily, it didn't play out like that.

So with those things from the first book (out-of-character stupidity to serve the plot, and heroine panting after douchebag) not an issue in this book, I loved it. I cried, I laughed, I was utterly riveted. Can't wait to see how the trilogy wraps up.

I am really enjoying this series. I thought this was just going to be another plot?/what plot? RH series but I have been thoroughly enjoying exploring this world. I do have to say if the guys have another *surprised Pikachu face* moment on realising that Eve HAS NO KNOWLEDGE of this world and doesn't know anything since NO ONE IS TELLING HER ANYTHING... I'm going to lose my shit. I swear, someone just needs to give this poor girl a pamphlet or SOMETHING because goddamn (
learning that your bio dad is a super villain when you meet him for the first time since your mom has been on the run from him for like 15 years... is a lot.
).

So freaking happy that this is out now and that I read it!
Spoilers below? Maybe? Idk.

Vital Found was definitely one of those books that once I found time to read it.. boy - I didn't it put it down! I missed everyone in this book and I cant' believe that I kind of forgot about what happened in the previous book. It was interesting to see how these characters were acting once they came back to school. Plus, I just really wanted to see how my guys were and if things were finally progressing with all of them and Eve.

Speaking of the guys, I feel like they love to tease me. I had no idea that Alec and Tyler made this little promise to step back from Eve.. even though they all had feelings for her. I get that Alec didn't like the whole sharing thing and doesn't know if he can do it - but damn, that must be hard on all of them. I did enjoy that her and Tyler are finally a thing now! Hot damn, that one scene was so good!! Then there's Josh, Ethan and her - and ddaaammnn, I enjoyed that one too. I just need Alex on board now because I think it would be amazing between them two. HECK, I need all of them together ASAP.

Other than all of that, I didn't expect that kind of betrayal from Zara. I knew that something was off with her.. but dang, she had some secrets. The cliffhanger was alright in my eyes.. but I have no idea how I feel about it. Am I excited for the next book? I have no freaking idea! Do I want the next book right now? Of course I do, I miss everyone already but depending on when it actually comes out - I will probably need to reread these two books first.
