This was a really cute, quick read that made me laugh out loud. It was sweet, and gave me the feels. I would definitely recommend it, and I would be interested to read more by this author.

It was adorable but also just ok. I can't tell if high school characters are too young and immature for me to read now, or if these characters just weren't great. I just feel like it wasn't all believable and didn't buy that they has no idea the other was into them, and then every time it seemed as the other person might, they just played it off as part of their deal. I mean I get it, it builds suspense but part of me is just like, really? You're letting it go that easily? Come on!

Also. The best friend. She was extremely unlikable and not a friend at all! I'm sorry, but if anyone has a friend like her that just keeps pressuring them to date like that and is so aggressive about it, they need to drop them. She was toxic. Not to mention completely oblivious that her selections sucked and had "no idea why the guys she picked out never worked." Not to mention thinking Sal could possibly be a lesbian and that must explain why she didn't like any of the guy picks. No. Just no. Gtfo. The mom wasn't much better.

*It's a 3.5 for me.

Sally, in dire need of getting her best friend and her mom off her back about dating - or, her lack of dating - decides that the only way to succeed is by having a fake boyfriend. So she recruits the only person who she can think of to help her out. Becks. Long-time best friends since they were yay high, and the school’s hottest and star soccer play. Oh, and did I mention that he’s the love of her life, but he doesn’t know it? Sweet, cheesy, laughter, pop culture references around every corner, there is no doubt that this book lives up to its name. Romance books are a classic and are the ultimate comfort books. In my case, it had been exactly what I needed to get through a head cold that left me exhausted. It’s simply, adorkable.

I’m a big fan always of the fake relationship trope. This one was a little better than alright. I liked Becks as a character way more than Sal. It’s definitely a very cheesy book that I think is trying to be cheesy. A lot of cringe moments though and parts that were supposed to be “emotional” I ended up finding funny instead. Sal is not a bad character more is she great though. I found her pretty bland overall and she gave me “I’m not like other girls” vibes which I don’t particularly care for. However, Becks I found to be far more interesting. A fun read overall, but super predictable and it has slow paced moments at times.
