This book acts almost as a mini sequel to the Serpent’s Shadow, leaving the issues with
the ghost Setne
in a better place. It is written in an interesting format, but since you are likely to read the Kane Chronicles trilogy before reading this, some of the information feels a bit repetitive. It is an interesting book that provides a heavier focus on Egyptian mythological trivia, but it can’t stand too well on its own.

I really enjoyed the extra information in the book. I never fell in love with [b:The Kane Chronicles|18216364|The Kane Chronicles (The Kane Chronicles #1-3)|Rick Riordan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1416637916l/18216364._SX50_.jpg|19239159] the way I fell in love with [b:Percy Jackson and the Olympians|3165162|Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1-3)|Rick Riordan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388181482l/3165162._SX50_.jpg|3197005], but I still find the books and it's related books (like this one) enjoyable. I would highly recommend this to anyone who was a bigger fan of The Kane Chronicles than I was.

If reading the Percy Jackson universe, you can skip this.
