Written in the height of his global fame, Dreamtigers is the work of a man who has made it to the spaciousness of success. Its great echoings reverberate history and human condition, but it doesn't strike me with the same lostness as Borges' other writing. Mysticism and subtle connections are sublime, delicate, rich for returning, and a structuring of something larger. For its holistic mastery, the desperate figuring of youth is absent.

I adored a good amount of the poems in this collection, and only tolerated a few. I admire Jorge Luis Borges' life so much and will definitely be reading more of his work.

About death, work, time, perception and self-reflection. I thought some of the poems were great and some went over my head.

Grāmatas pirmā daļa sastāv no īsiem stāstiem, otrā no dzejoļiem. Lai gan dzeja mani nepievelk, priecājos, ka izlasīju šo grāmatu. It īpaši man patika dzejolis The Rain.

I'm in a bit of a pickle as to how to classify this book. "Non-fiction" seems redundant enough and even of that I feel uncertain. Borges "leaks" himself into the writing through literary sketches of different kinds, some beautiful, some even more so. All of it, authentic.
Come to think of it, I remember reading some of it as a teenager back when I came across his personal anthology. Felt like it spoke to me on a deeply personal level. I'm glad there's an entire book of these little weirdos...
