3.5 - as usual, I liked the book and didn’t see the twist BUT the plot got quite formulaic by the halfway point.

Poirot and Hastings visit x, then they visit y, then they visit z, etc. I did love the dog’s “voice” though, and the ending was sweet. And the gentle ribbings from Hastings were pretty funny.

All in all, a good book, just a little repetitive.

Another really enjoyable Agatha Christie.

It proved to be a pretty clever mystery in the end. I was not very convinced by Poirot's reasoning at the start of the case though, it all seemed a bit far-fetched. Poor Emily Arundell. What a horrible end she met, and what a horrible family she had to deal with.
