Review is for the individual comics making up this collection. Spoilers may follow.

The good news is this isn't Gillen's hot mess of an Iron Man run. The bad news is, the events of Axis have left their mark on Tony Stark, and not for the better.

Anyone coming on board with Superior Iron Man may be in for a bit of a shock when they get acquainted with Tony Stark here, and his new, addictive version of Extremis, which he unleashes on an unsuspecting San Francisco. Iron Man is the bad guy here, and when the fallout from Extremis leads to a conflict with Daredevil, the results are rather shocking in more ways than one.

We are given a glimpse of a side story with Pepper that may offer a hope of redemption for Stark in future issues, but only a hint, and a further glimpse of possible salvation for Tony in the form of his San Francisco nemesis, the Teen Abomination, who has links to Tony that even Iron Man wasn’t aware of.

The creative team has set up an interesting take on post-Axis Iron Man, and I’m curious to see where the story goes from here.

And, as a minor gripe, really Marvel, you're using "Infamous" as a TPB title again? For the second time in six months? You just released a Magneto volume with the same name. Can you watch this kind of thing in the future.

In a fight with the Red Skull, several heroes have their personalities changed. While most are restored, Tony Stark becomes one of the biggest dicks in history. Tony exposes all of San Francisco to Extremis and charges people $100 to keep it. Daredevil knows this is wrong so he goes to take out Tony. Instead, Tony beats Daredevil and puts him to sleep. When Matt awakes, his vision has returned. However, this isn’t permanent. Tony says this will only keep going as long as Daredevil lets him do what he wants. At this point, Tony has lost it. He calls himself a god. Meanwhile, Pepper uses Tony’s old armors, uploaded with his real personality, to make a plan to take evil Tony down. They send out tons of old armor. Pepper, in her rescue armor, fights Tony and loses. But, she exposes his true self to all of San Francisco. Now he may still be rich, but everyone hates him and he is all alone.

Evil Tony Stark is fun but it's just an okay book overall. The Superior Iron Man armor is really slick though.

Tony Stark is an a$$ here and I love it. There is, of course, a bigger picture working here as well. I am enjoying the art.

Does what it sets out to do perfectly well (Tony with no morals and everyone else dealing with the fallout of that). I just don't think I'm very interested in reading and I'm struggling to think of what would need to change to get me really invested.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this. They've been painting Tony as a villain in the Marvel Universe for a while now, and as an Iron Man fan it can get a bit tiring. But this time, he really IS a villain, and it's a stark (sorry) contrast to the regular Tony. Which I think puts our regular Tony in a better light... and is also pretty fun while we're at it. This is, really, a villain book and obviously nowhere near a permanent state. So enjoy the ride.
