The Bad Boy's Baby is book 3 in the Hope Springs series and can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the first two but was able to follow the story easily.

Cam Brantley was a notorious bad boy in Hope Springs but he's been away for years while serving in the Army. He's come back to town to help renovate Mountain Springs B & B and cabins with his brother Heath. He plans on leading trips into the nearby mountains once everything is finished but little does he know that his hot one-night stand before shipping out with is the project manager for Mountain Springs.

Emma Walker has one thing on her mind to finish the B & B and move to a big city where she can earn more to provide for her daughter, Zoey and herself. When she arrives at the site, she finds out that Cam is back and that she needs to tell him that he has a daughter. But will he accept that he has a daughter and love her as much as she does.

Once Cam meets Zoey, he's for sure that she is his daughter and decides to he does want to be in her life. I really loved the "Why?" questions that Zoe asked both Emma and Cam and the mud puddle episode brought back childhood memories. There is a second story line with Pete who is helping with the project but its a minor story line. But when Emma and Cam escape to Blue Lake for the week-end and issue a fishing challenge is when I read fell in love with both characters. I'm sure that you'll enjoy the book as much as I did and want to read the previous two books to catch up on Quinn and Sadie (Girl's night out!) and Grandma Bev (who by the way is a hoot with her Bingo episode).

This book was just boring. I wanted to love it but by the next day. I could not even tell you the names of the main characters.

I loved the story. It's a fun read. Both Cam & Emma are amazing characters. I liked how the developed their relationship, slowly, taking their time and having fun along the way. It is and interesting book which I'd recommend to all romance lovers.

Cam and Emma had a one night together and then Cam was deployed. Emma never got a chance to tell him about his daughter. Now he is back in town and Emma must find a way to tell him. She just hopes that he tries to be a dad. Although she knows all about his views on having children.

Cam never thought he would ever father a child but knowing that he has a daughter changes everything. He is more than willing to try having a relationship with his daughter. He wants to be in Zoey's life. There is no way he would let his daughter grow up knowing that her dad didn't want her.

But Zoey is not the only important person here. He also has feelings for her mother. Even though they didn't know each other well, but now that they are spending time together they realise they are attracted to each other. Chemistry between them is off the charts, they also have a daughter together so it seems natural to give themselves a chance.. But will they be able to get over their past lives, future dreams, and present hopes is different matter entirely...

This was really just ok. The ending was very rushed, the h forgave the H way too easily. And personally, I didn't find either character likable. Definitely not for me.

Three and a half stars.

Emma Walker was the good girl, the avid student, the girl who wanted to become an architect in a big city until one night, fuelled by a mean ex-boyfriend and a lot of tequila Emma stepped out of her comfort zone and had a one-night stand with the town's bad boy Cam Brantley just before he shipped out overseas with the army.

Just one night of passion but three years later Emma is a single mom to cute-as-a-button Zoey and trying to realise her dreams working for a construction company where she has helped to design the latest project, extending the local B&B into a lodge with the addition of several new luxurious cabins for Cam's brother and his fiancee. However, imagine her surprise when she goes to the B&B one day and Cam opens the door. He has no idea that he has a daughter.

Cam has a messed up family, his father was abusive and Cam had to bring up his baby brother and protect him from their dad. As a result he never wanted to get married or have a family - but when he finally finds out he is a father he is entranced with Zoey.

What Emma doesn't know is whether Cam wants her as a woman or just as the mother of his daughter. Is she too boring for one of the most handsome men she has ever seen? And can Cam overcome his family history and his own demons?

This was a lovely, sweet second-chance romance complete with cute moppets, dogs and picnic basket auctions. A bit different to Cindi's more recent novels but still good fun.

Series favorite, definitely!

I loved that Cam was a plain ol' Army guy--not a SEAL, not Special Ops, not a Marine--just Army. Nothing wrong with that--go Army! :)

Finally getting together with your high school crush, when done well, is one of my favorite storylines, and this one did not disappoint! It's even better when the object of the crush was totally clueless back then, and is so freaking adorable when he finds out about it :) The playful back-and-forth between him and Emma (especially their trash talking competitions--building furniture, fishing--that they participated in) was a whole lot of fun to read. And watching Zoey whip him into shape as a dad? Priceless.

This book practically had me smiling from start to finish.

Seeing Quinn / Heath and Sadie (and a little bit of Royce, but not as much as the others) was fun too--though if you haven't read their stories yet ([b:Second Chance Ranch|22392977|Second Chance Ranch (Hope Springs, #1)|Cindi Madsen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1443204443s/22392977.jpg|41813500] and [b:Crazy for the Competition|25562838|Crazy for the Competition (Hope Springs, #2)|Cindi Madsen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1458277731s/25562838.jpg|42663820]), no worries--this one works fine as a standalone. Now we just need to find someone for Jay Torres, Cam's old Army buddy. Fingers crossed that he gets the next book!

Can I move to Hope Springs? Surely Emma can design me a snug little cabin too...

"3.5 out of 5 stars! Around two years ago feeling a bit sorry for herself, Emma dolled up, went for drinks at the local bar, and “picked up” her longtime crush the local “bad boy” Cameron (Cam) only a few hours before he was being sent out to deploy again. During their evening together, Emma ended up pregnant and because of a few different circumstances, she never informed Cam about him becoming a father. Now Cam is back in town for good, with plans to bring his brother and his dream of the Mountain Ridge to life. Though he is unprepared for both Emma and his little daughter coming into his life, Cam soon falls for them both. However, as they both deal with their new circumstances and grow closer as a family their pasts and future plans come between them. Can they be able to compromise for the sake of each other or will everything fall apart?

While not quite what I expected, I was happy to escape back into Hope Springs to catch up on old and new characters. This contemporary romance has a cleverness that charmed me. Along with a spunkiness in the form of Quinn (from “Crazy for the Competition”) that made me laugh a LOT in this novel. Nevertheless..."

Logically she’d known that she might see the father of her child again someday. But logic and seeing him were two different things, and the latter made her completely lose hold of the former.

Emma woke up one morning thinking that the day would be just like all the others. But when she gets to work, she comes face to face with the father of her child. Almost three years ago, she slept with Cam and the result of that night is her adorable 2 year old daughter, Zoey. Cam takes the news that he is a father quite well and makes it very clear that he wants to be part of Zoey's life . Of course Emma is on board with that idea and he becomes a part of both of their lives.

I was impressed with Cam's parenting skills. He picked it up pretty quickly and it was not only endearing, but also very entertaining. It didn't take long for Zoey to wrap Cam around her little fingers. She was adorable and I loved her.
Zoey started dancing around, a dance that looked suspiciously like—

“Go potty,” Zoey said.

Cam looked to the front door, praying for Emma to come through it, but he could see her pacing outside the window, still on the phone. He didn’t want her to think he couldn’t handle a few minutes alone, even though he wasn’t sure he could.

I have no idea what I’m doing. One thing was sure, he was definitely in over his head.

“Um, bathroom’s right there.” He pointed at the door.

She grabbed his hand and started toward it. Once they stepped inside the bathroom, she looked up at him like he’d know what to do.

“Need help?”he asked and she nodded, handing him the doll. Tucking it under his arm, he helped Zoey get her pants down and lifted her onto the toilet. She smiled at him, kicking out her legs and looking toward the ceiling for a moment. Then she was done, and he exhaled a relieved breath.

But as soon as he got everything back into place and her hands washed, she demanded candy.

“I don’t have any candy,” he said.

She pointed at the toilet. “Go potty. Candy.” When he simply continued to stare, she wrinkled her face up, and he could tell she was about to cry, the way she’d done after he’d stopped her from climbing on the nightstand earlier. But that was when Emma was still inside, and she wasn’t now.

“All right. I’ll find…something.” Zoey followed him into the kitchen, and he opened the pantry and eyed the sparse contents. He had several leftover MREs from his army days, but he figured she’d be as unimpressed with the ready-to-eat meal contents as he was after a week straight of choking them down in the field.

The bag of marshmallows he’d bought for hot chocolate caught his eye. He glanced at the door again, feeling like he was about to get into trouble for reasons he wasn’t even sure of. So he quickly opened the bag and handed Zoey a marshmallow. She shoved the entire thing in her mouth and smiled at him, one cheek popping out.

As he spends more time with Zoey, he gets to really know Emma. Although they slept together, they barely knew each other, so they are basically starting with a clean slate. He sees that Emma is a great mother and a fantastic architect. She's funny, sexy, compassionate, loving, outgoing and exactly the type of woman he needs. Unfortunately for Cam his past holds him back and puts his future with Emma and Zoey in danger.

This book was a pleasant surprise! I've read a few stories with the secret baby trope, but if the rest are all as good as this, I'm gonna need to add them to my TBR!
