Claudine the French girl really makes the whole term exciting! Plus there's A LOT happening this summer, a lot more than usual. Alison's character development too, please stay true!

Claudine is one of Blyton's finest characters. Her mischievous nature brings light and hilarity to the whole book

I don't quite love the new girls as much in this book, but it's still good and there's a lot going on!

I'm writing this seven years after I read the book to say that Claudine was one of my favourite characters and one of the most memorable as well, I realise. I still remember the scene in which she pushes a parent (the spoilt girl's mother, I think?) into the pool.
