Lawyers have a tough job and some can be ruthless. In this case, Sasha turns that ruthlessness against her opposition by actually examining a large, last minute, document dump in a civil case for evidence of a criminal case. Several legal principles play into the story, and again Sasha has to use her Krav Maga training to overcome odds in a physical confrontation. Although the ending has some minor surprises, the basic story presents the antagonist and issues early on. Still, quite enjoyable.

Was this book really 400 pages? It seemed pretty short. Definitely a fast read.

Sasha McCandless is back with another legal thriller that seems to put her in harms way. A series of deaths among young girls rocks the city of Pittsburgh but the medical examiners office refuses to accept that they might be connected to a popular energy drink. One of the mayor's top aides seems to have her hands in everything. Shady business deals abound.

At times the plot was a little confusing and convoluted, but Sasha and her crew are as good as ever and things clear up as the story goes on. I'll give this another solid 4 stars.

Another great Sasha novel! I particularly love these books continue to incorporate scientific themes into a legal thriller. Another quick read that leads me to want more!

Another good story, but this one spoiled by the starry-eyed adulation for Buddhism. Puerile nonsense like
“Buddhists won’t harm any living thing, Sasha. Not even in self-defense. If they find him, he’s as good as dead.”  A Buddhist simply doesn’t value his own life more highly than any other life—whether that other life belongs to an insect, a stranger, or a criminal trying to harm him.” Is hard to read, and
Rohingya rape camp victims in Myanmar, Muslims and Christians in Sri Lanka, and Muslims in Thailand may find statements like the one above difficult to agree with, I suspect.

That sort of drivel annoys me enough to take me out of the story.
