You know, I'm so sad I didn't enjoy this book. I have really enjoyed Jennifer's other books because they were adorable, but this one was nothing special.
It wasn't all bad. The layout of the story was very creative and could have been a winner. I thought the whole list of stops to go to was super cute and was one of the reasons I didn't hate the book. If you are curious, I thought lots of the stops didn't fully have relevance to the story, so therefore I couldn't give this three stars.
This novel also had decent side characters. I thought they had more personality than the main characters in my opinion. They had so much more life in them and corkyness. They were so adorable at times and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. I personally wish they were the stars of the book, not Aidan and Clare.
I had tons of issues with this book that I just kept being irritated by the whole time. I really was not a fan of Claire. I don't dislike her for being a bit uptight and worrying all the time, I disliked her because of how selfish she was. She felt so sad for herself for " having" to break up with Aidan and complained to everyone while she doesn't even know what's going on with her best friend! I get that sucks, but I feel like she should have been a better friend towards Stella and sit down and talk to her.
That brings me to the issue of Claire and Aiden. To me, I didn't see the chemistry they claimed to have. At times, I thought they were cute, but then I'd also wonder why they were even a couple. Claire never told Aiden she loved him for a while, while poor Aiden always told her how much he adored her. That isn't how a healthy relationship should work. Both people should show how much they care for each other and communicate, and sometimes I didn't see that in their relationship.
I also found the writing to be just okay. I didn't find it to have that same cutesy flare like her books.

When it comes to Jenn , I can never know what’s coming... so I actually don’t have a solid opinion on this one. It was okay, but didn’t give me all the feelings some others books from her gave me ... For what it was worth, the story itself was entertaining but not catchy . I couldn’t help felling something was missing everytime , it was way too superficial.. And the ending ... uh! We just came to the begging: uncertain and a bit uncomfortable. Idk, maybe I just like more solid ends ... Sure thing it was fun , but not a must

I actually find this book hard to sum up. Yes, it was only 248 pages long and the story only spanned over the course of one night, but it felt like so much happened despite this. And yet, it felt so repetitive as well.
Overall I gave this book 4 stars. I enjoyed it and I found the writing to be honest and refreshing. It wasn't overdone and was filled with appropriate detail and amazing descriptions. I loved the beautiful parts of writing such as this, "They're like two trees whose branches have grown together. Even if you pull them out by the trunks, they're still going to be twisted and tangled and nearly impossible to separate at the roots." I mean I just find that heartbreakingly beautiful.
What I really loved about how this book was written was how realistic the characters were. Not only did it make this story feel real and relatable, but it also made this book hopeful. It didn't feel like a love story that you couldn't imagine happening in real life. Also, I loved the parts of this book where I would get a cheeky little grin because Clare would think something really sweet and I would think, yeah, I'm guilty of that too. Like this scene, "... Missing him already, though he's just downstairs." or "... And when their eyes meet, he smiles almost without meaning to, which is the kind of smile she loves best: it's like a sneeze, a reflex, a twitch, helpless and automatic, and it only happens when he looks at her." It's the little details like these that made this book.
I must also point this out somewhere in this poorly structured review, that I actually really loved the side characters, and found their situation and personalities kind of more interesting than the main characters, just saying.
This book wasn't amazing for me though. At points I just found the conversations between Clare and Aidan repetitive. Whilst I imagine these types of conversations are what really would have occurred in this situation, I just got sick of listening to it. They were so indecisive as well and it honestly got a bit irritating. I also felt like because this book was about a couple who were already together for two years, it lost the exciting feel of a book where you have the suspense of wanting to know whether the couple will get together or not. I just found this book didn't have that suspense, even though I was curious to see what decision they ultimately made at the end. But in saying that, I loved that this book was different. I actually love the idea, and I think Jennifer E Smith did an amazing job at pulling this off. I cannot wait to read her other four books out at present.
So if I must sum up, as hard as that is to do, I would say this book is a bit of an emotional, wishy washy rollercoaster, but it is worth it to get to the end. And maybe these feelings of irritations towards the indecision of the characters help make readers feel like they're a part of this all nighter. What I'm trying to say is whilst this book wasn't amazing in my opinion, it was defiantly well written and enjoyable. Also, it's the type of book that might help you in your own life decisions in future. I recommend this for anyone who loves a good romance that is more on the sweet side.

I really loved the concept of this book-- revisiting a relationship through places with important memories/ history. While I give the author props for portraying a real issue (whether to break up or stay together when you leave for colleges in different states), I just didn't fall in love with this book like I'd hoped to.
I love that I can always count on Jennifer E. Smith’s books for an adorable, romantic read that will give me ALL OF THE FEELS. Read the rest of my review here
Again, this is more of a 3.5 but I'm in a good mood so I'll round up.
This book was really cheesy at times, but I loved it! Aiden and Clare forever yo
I think what made the book a lot better than it would've been, was the dialogue. It was funny, witty, and some parts just gripped your heart. I think if the book didn't have the dialogue it did, it might've gotten "3" (2.5) stars
Stella and Scotty? I SAW IT COMING! But then again, this IS a romantic contemporary sO everything is cliché.
I also really loved the whole "concept of the firsts and important moments." It made me be excited to see where they would be going next and how it was significant to them as a couple <3
The ending melted my heart <3 I'm seriously thinking about reading another one of her books.
