This is a very compelling mystery! It kept me up several nights, as I had to read "just one more chapter."
It begins with the disturbing discovery of a dead girl, and gets even more complicated and intriguing as the investigation into the girl's death begins.
I really liked the two investigators, and thought the progression of their (non-romantic) relationship was very realistic.
Highly recommended, but not for the meek.

Overall I enjoyed this mystery. The ending was a total shocker and I look forward to reading more. I think that Kate is a character that Ms. King will be continually developing as she continues this series.
