My Rating System: 4.5 rounded down to 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ticked most boxes LOVED IT but…!!!

Book inspired by real-life serial killer Ted Bundy.

Caitlin Hendrix is back and is newly appointed as FBI Special Agent at Quantico. Saturday night is the most fun night of the week, but in Southern Texas women are disappearing without a trace. The latest victim has been taken from her residence in the middle of the night and her baby is left screaming with the door wide open when her husband comes home.

Caitlin and the team are invited to assist on the case fearing there is a serial killer lurking the streets. After a grim discovery of two bodies that have been lain in the woods in a white nightgown, blood stained with Polaroids of other victims surrounding the dead, the team must build a profile to help catch this sick UNSUB.

The profile leads Caitlin to focus in on one man: a charismatic, confident, successful professional who on the surface seems like the poster boy for all things good. Is Caitlin fixating on the wrong person or is this suspect a wolf in sheep’s clothing waiting to attack??

So the minute I finished book one I immediately picked up book two and dug in!! I wasn’t disappointed. [a:Meg Gardiner|61237|Meg Gardiner|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1581817751p2/61237.jpg] can write like a demon… seriously sick and twisted but excellent story telling, giving the reader enough information to form a picture and also keeping you wanting more and more and MORE!!!

Meg Gardiner has a way with words. I am hooked from the first page and am upset any time I have to put it down. I am so on edge when I am reading a suspenseful scene and I love that. Caitlin is such a great character. She has traumatic history that comes up in the Unsub series, but we see over and over again just how badass she is by overcoming it.

"We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere." - Ted Bundy.

For those of you who don't already know, this novel was based off of the true events in the Ted Bundy case. As some of you might not know... Ted Bundy is my favorite serial killer. I'm not one of his so called "groupies" I am just completely fascinated on how he murdered so many women and was never officially caught until when he did. Then to escape jail. WOAH. What a manipulative mastermind. Anyways, once I heard that Meg Gardiner made another book based on a serial killer named Ted Bundy (first book: Zodiac Killer), I just had to read it. There were no exceptions.

This book was extremely well written. There were parts in the story that I could picture from documentaries previously watched and newspaper articles previous written that held true. I couldn't even help myself when reading "Detrick" .... I had to call him "TED."

There are also many parts in this book with twists and turns that you didn't see coming. Also, in this book, Caitlin receives a new partner, Agent Rainey. Let me tell you.... I loved everything about Rainey as a character. Talk about total bad ass. As much as I'm torn about Caitlin being on the east coast rather than California, I don't know which duo I want to stick. Her new team or the old team?

Agent Hendrix is still in her long distance relationship with the hottie Sean Rawlins. I was very sad when it came to Sean because he was not in this book as much as he was Unsub. I completely understand why he is not a huge character but I'm really hoping that in book 3 he will be.

If you are looking for a fast paced series, I highly recommend Unsub and Into the Black Nowhere!
