More of a lap book than a classroom read-aloud. Would be fun to make up different songs/tones with the La's with one or two children.
Possibly could be used to explore emotions of sadness and frustration based on the illustrations - what tone would the songs take on?
Sweet and beautiful but a little obtuse.

The premise made this book fun. Plus, I loved singing it!

This is a book with pictures and few words.

Sadly, I wasn't the biggest fan of this.  I think the idea behind the book--the theme of hope--is beautiful, but I don't think it was as executed as well as it could have been.  Also, I really wasn't a fan of the typography.  Which is just me being nitpicky, but still.

I think I would have liked this more if it was completely wordless. Absolutely GORGEOUS illustrations.
