This is my review for the whole series.

This Superman/Batman series is everything it should be. It's epic and personal at the same time. Loeb brilliantly manipulates the tension between Superman and Batman, whose friendship at times seems to rest superficially on a common interest to do good in the world. The two characters greatly disagree as to methodology and are frequently at each other's throats throughout the series. This difficult relationship makes the times when they genuinely show respect to each other all the more heart warming and you hope that they can resolve their differences because they make such a great team.

There are times when the series just seems a bit ludicrous though. In the first volume Batman and Superman take off in a giant space ship that is shaped like their own likeness. Fail.

The thing that I love most about this comic book is how Superman and Batman have this friends-yet-enemies relationship going on. Their ultimate goal is the same, but their methods and beliefs on how to reach that point are very different - just like Professor X and Magneto.

On a random side note, I didn't realize how many sidekicks/knock-offs Batman and Superman had until I read this comic book...

I enjoy the contrast between what Superman is thinking and what Batman is thinking. The last chapter wasn't the greatest. I thought the Superman/Batman composite rocket was a little hokey. Oh well. Art was great.

This is the first graphic novel I have ever read. I really enjoyed it! I was excited to read about these two heros working side by side. I absolutely loved everything about the art - the style, colors, etc. I liked the inner dialogue of Superman and Batman. Some of the writing/lines were a bit cheesy, but it did not bother me. I didn't really know what to expect in regards to the storyline. I'm giving the storyline 4 stars and the art 5 stars - that's why I just decided on 4 stars...even though it should probably be 4.5 stars!

I am so loving that I committed to reading more graphic novels in 2014 because books like this are so much fun! I'm actually a Marvel guy and have never read much in the DC universe but this book was a blast.

Asteroid heading toward earth. President Lex Luthor offers a bounty on Superman (blames the asteroid on him) and an all out battle royal ensues. It's pretty much everyone against Superman & Batman - Soloman Grundy, Hawkman, Green Lantern, Power Girl (yea), Mister Freeze, Captain Cold, Mongul, Lady Shiva, Nightshade, Grodd and about 20 more that I didn't recognize. Reminded me of the job of reading Marvel's Secret Wars back in the 80's.

The story is much deeper than I'm giving it credit for but what I enjoyed was the fun

AND

The fact that it was self contained (if you follow my reviews you'll know about my aggravation lately with books that can't seem to exist outside of a series).

Yes it could be better - there is still that cheesy DC universe to contend with but recommended nonetheless. A good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I'm a fan of Loeb's darker and grittier works, but was still import see.
Quippy, and the artwork drips of nostalgia.
