I did not expect to encounter a character with epilepsy, another who steals in order to be as petty and possible, and a third who is passionate about medicine, but believes that same-sex relationships are a sin. This book is solid! I would warn families to read the first few pages to make sure it is appropriate for their child/teen, but the sex scenes tend to be vague and implied moreso than, say, CHoover or SJMaas. So, read on!

If I had a nickel for every fictional bisexual man I know who have abusive fathers and became deaf in one ear and married their best friend I’d have two nickels (thank you Adam Parrish and Henry Montague)

Anyways what a lovely story!! I ate it up so quickly oh wow. There was adventure, tension, action, romance, comedy, tear jerking moments like what more could you want from a book?? Tbh though I wasn’t a huge fan of Henry at the beginning of the book- that man is ANNOYING- but his development was written beautifully and he became such a delight for me. Each character really was so fun. That’s what this book is: FUN. And the romance… WOW. That ending but had me tearing up!!! I’m glad I chose this book for my spring reread, and now I’m just filled with so much giddiness and joy. The ending just warms my heart! A fantastic adventure story with such great comedy and a beautiful top tier romance, again, what more could you ask for??

this is a historical ya novel that not only acknowledges, but focuses the story around queer and/or biracial and/or disabled characters in the 18th century while also presenting you with the cutest otp to ever exist and i just finished this 5 minutes ago but i’m going to start it again. right now

Loved it!! Christian Coulson, the narrator, did an amazing job with the voices! I now cannot imagine either Percy nor Monty having a different voice!

The pace was nice, and the series of unfortunate events reminded me a lot of 18th and 19th century's novels.

Can't wait to read (or listen to!) more
