This book is an emotional rollercoaster! When Lennie was sad or mad or something I felt it too wow!

This book was aMAZing. I loved Len's character and how she developed over the course of the book. I love Joe and can relate on so many levels on the nerdy band girl thing. I love how deep Jandy went into about music and how you have to feel the notes and the music and not just the instrument in your hands.

This book is somewhere between a 3 and a 4. I read the vast majority of it in one sitting. I just didn't connect with the characters in this book as much as I'll Give you the Sun. I loved the poems, and I think she dealt with grief realistically, but I just wasn't wowed by the book.

so so beautiful
would consider this a second favourite of the year so far— nothing is beating one day in december!!

first thing to mention, i love jandy nelson. i honestly don’t think there’s enough words to describe how talented and amazing this woman is. her writing style is unique, advanced and poetic. i was expecting amazement after reading ‘i’ll give you the sun’ and i got exactly that. this woman will never run out of things to say and how to say them.

i loved all the characters in this one, atleast majority of the time. they were all well-written and played a unique part in the story. especially gram, god i would give my heart and soul to her :(
joe i admired so much that i also hurt for him after lennie crushed his heart into thousands of pieces!!!!

but one thing i didn’t love:
lennie’s romance with toby— didn’t enjoy it at all, but can see why the writer included this to begin with as it does show lennie’s growth when she puts a stop to it
however, i feel like if i was in lennie’s position i would’ve ended it after the first mishap

things i loved:
the poem concept.
joe fontaine.
the ONE book that appealed to lennie
gram.
big.
at this point i might aswell just include every other character in the book.

moral of the point, it was amazing and romantic and devastating all at the same time, which proves to be a realistic and appreciative love story that needs to be read.

Snail Mail Book Club. Wow, this author has mad skillz. The characters are wholly illuminated and must be invited to dinner.
