Oh, this one was a million times better than the mess that was the first book in the series!! The publishers did so good switching to Keith for the author of the second book. This one was so enjoyable and truly felt like a Leverage episode. Decandido truly wrote in the voices of each of the characters so well, the plot was interesting and had the Leverage-esque twists and turns, and he used some of the show’s tropes
such as Sophie’s many aliases, FBI Parker and Hardison, planted/fake articles, and even Sterling shenanigans
but did it in such a way that makes you happy to read and isn’t gimmicky— because the rest of the book is such an enjoyable read that it’s not like he’s trying to make up any lost points by nostalgia factor, since the book is good on its’ own as well! I truly enjoyed this one, it’s a fun read, and after finding out he’s written some Trek novels I’m going to go look those up as well.
P. S. I really loved getting to see the Kerrigans again, too!
definitely a fun book, would recommend!

Another fun entry into the leverage book series. The plot worked well, the team was in character, and Parker with a monkey was adorable.

This book takes full advantage of its format to pull cons on the reader that wouldn’t work in the original visual medium of the television show, but absolutely fit the style of the show. At times it feels like the author is trying a little too hard to tie in the story to the show’s continuity. I felt like it was wrapped up very suddenly. One of the nice things about a book is not having to worry about actor availability, meaning many fan favorites made their way into the story. As fun as it was to see them, I would have liked to have gotten more from the original character Elizabeth.

I don't have much experience with IP novels like this, but I thought this was pretty fun. I think the voices were captured pretty well, though the character dynamics read a bit more like the early seasons than later seasons.

This has certainly made me curious about what the background process for these types of books is. My best guess is that the authors are given 5-6 episodes and some character sheets with some notes about the backstories. There are a lot of callbacks happening here that felt a smidge jarring at times.

But I had a good time. If this was an episode of the show proper, it would probably be in the middle somewhere. And since it's my favorite show, that's still pretty solid.

I liked this book the least of the three tie-ins. The premise was a good idea, and while the villain wasn't as exciting as those in the other two books or as seen in the shows, it definitely wasn't a stretch to believe the team would be after him. The book took the show's formatting to heart (the notorious"plan b" or "we meant for that to happen" twist), however, it seemed to be over-executed and exaggerated.

But the characters were the hardest to get through. The best I can say it is that the author tweaked them to fit the plot better. You could definitely "hear" each character in voice very well, I'll give that credit, and while nothing seemed too out of character to be unbelievable, it was just enough to throw off the mood of the team.

Definitely a satisfying read for anyone who sees the show. Only problem I saw is that the timeline gets a little convoluted and walks that fine line of genuis and plot holes.
