It's true that you should never judge a book by its cover, but when you look at the bright yellow monstrosity of Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit, it's hard not to. A woman on the tram was giving me weird looks as I was reading this. I know, lady, it looks stupid, but that's only because you don't know the pure undiluted joy of a Wodehouse novel. I feel sorry for you.

A few re-cycled plot points, such as someone large chasing Bertie through the halls or being stuck inside someone's room that Bertie isn't supposed to be in, but you pretty much know you are going to get comedic gold with every Jeeves novel. These are a great break in between longer or more serious books.

I needed something short to read, so picked up this Wodehouse which I must have bought 20 years ago.  It is obviously about a class of people who either don't exist any more, or who most people never come across.  It is also a little sexist (although not particularly racist except for the fact that every character is very white).  But I don't think either of those things should stop people reading it -  the book is from a different area and is hilarious.  Nobody (except perhaps Jeeves) comes out looking good.  Laugh out loud funny so still worth reading even 70 years after it was published.

A return to form, Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit is classic Wodehouse, with a familiar plot that’s kept trim enough to not overshadow the hilarious character work and dialogue.

This is one of my favorite books so far in the series, I was literally laughing out loud. I think a lot of my enjoyment was from the fact that Bertie's friends weren't at their absolute worst-Bertie was just his usual bumbling self, and I loved it.

I recommend this book to those who like the series, those looking for a well-written humor book, or any interested in seeing what a Jeeves book is all about.

Funny stuff. The gags come thick and fast in this one. Right near the end he describes someone's face as shining like the seat of a bus-driver's trousers. Quality.
