another one in the "home is where the walls are rotting" category that also includes white rabbit and snake imagery to just really top it off. what more could i possibly ask for?

This is my first time ever reading a book from this author and I'm pleasantly surprised. I enjoy every page of this book. It hooked me from page one and didn't let go until the last. I would highly recommend!

I would much rather believe that this was supernatural than what ended up happening in the end.

I do think the epilogue ruined it for me, I don't know. It would have been cool to just have it end with the last chapter without all of the resolution. It wrapped everything up too nicely in my opinion, but maybe that's the pessimist in me.

I strongly dislike Maggie. Plain and simple. I wanted to skip her chapters in favor of just reading more of House of Horrors, I would have rather read that book.

I think this is a wonderful mystery book, with an interesting premise and it would have been so much cooler to me if it went more along the "Conjuring" side of things rather than "there is a logical explanation for everything that is happening in this house".

It was a fast and entertaining read, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the first half and the double narration.
However, the main character was irritating all through the book, narrow minded and judgemental.

But what very disappointed me was the second half. I wasn't very surprised by any of the twists (I saw most of them coming) but they were for some of them not credible at all, especially because there were too many of them. The ending ended up feeling stupid. The author should care more about writing a good story rather than pulling as many twists that he thinks he can get away with.

It had some genuinely creepy moments. However, I would have more easily bought the haunting than the actual, "logical" ending, which was just...implausible.

Very good not what I expected not as scary as I thought.
