Alright

This is funny and a bit heart warming, throwing a wealth of mythology with enough heat to make this fast burn RH sing.

This was a great story about a girl who finds out she is an avatar for a god.

Poor Locke is having all kinds of stuff happen to her, I'm not sure I could handle any of it. And the pull to use her god powers in a bad way is interesting and falls in line with what I have always read about gods.

I like reading things about mythology so this was a good read.

Also there was some hot sexytimes.

I'm a sucker for mythology romances and after dipping my toe in the Jackals MC books I decided to start with this series which was written first and gives me more of an understanding in my opinion.

I enjoy greek mythology probably the most so having this & the next series for Hades is right up my street.

Interesting first book, very interested to see how this continues.

I read this through Kindle Unlimited. It had a neat, pretty original concept, and I thought that the storyline was logical and entertaining. The main character had an unconventional career as a phone sex operator, and she had a past that wasn't super developed. Her powers are what I would have expected, besides the
Spoilercondom summoning
thing. The other characters were okay. This was a book one, so it stands to say that relationships and backgrounds won't be super developed at this point. The sex scenes were hot.

Despite the unique concept and the steaminess, I don't think I will be reading book two. I didn't love the main character's change in personality towards the end, as she was a bit unnerving, which I suppose I should have expected, because gods and all. But anyway, that, plus the rest of the book, didn't really do it for me. I think it was an interesting read, but this was not really for me. Also, the editing left something to be desired. 3 stars.

Great start

Fast paced, tons of drama and action. Crazy good story line. Characters are interesting. Love the plot line. Kinda irritated about Locke’s decisions

Insta-love/Insta-sex.
There isn't really a plot.
No relationship depth.
This is erotica, so there is a lot of sex. But the sex scenes happened in the worst timing and chopped the flow of the story.

The overall idea wasn't bad but the language was just very simplistic.

Something was missing from this book. I can’t really explain what it was. I think maybe more of a back story or more in depth of a plot.

Battlefield Love is the first book in the new adult operation cupid series by Skyler Andra & Mila Young. The operation cupid series is a mythology and fantasy romance, that has a really cool premise. You all know I am a sucker for anything mythology, and I love Mila Young's Gods and Monster's series so much, so I was extra excited to see what they would do with another mythology series. The coolest part of Battlefield Love is the world setup and the treatment of the gods of greek and roman mythology. I did have a small issue with one aspect of the story, but I love the setup and Battlefield Love has all of the makings and potential to be an awesome series. I can't wait for the next book. In Battlefield Love we meet our main character, Locke is just a normal woman, until Eros (the Roman version of Cupid) pulls her into the world of Gods and their human Avatars. The concept of Avatars is one that I have not seen explored in mythology fiction before, and I have to say I really enjoy it. All of the Gods live up on Mount Olympus and in this book, they don't really travel to earth. But they still need some connection to earth to be able to have their powers and influence over the land. This is where the Avatars come in. Avatars are a gods manifestation in a human. The human takes on some of the abilities, characteristics and traits of their God counter part. It is a very interesting concept, and I can't wait to see it explored further in the next book, and for us to meet even more Avatars. In Battlefield Love we know that Locke is Eros' avatar, and we also meet Mads and Rane- the avatars of Hermes and Ares respectively. Rane was my favorite character in the whole book, hands down. I just love him! But he is also one part of the aspect of the story I had a slight issue with. I understand that as Eros' avatar Locke is going to have some of his "love" characteristics, which in turn might make some guys act a little gooey around her, but I felt like there was a bit too much insta- something going on in Battlefield Love. I don't know if it was love or lust, but it felt a bit rushed. It wasn't a biog deal, because I still really enjoyed the story and I really, really love Rane. So I certainly want to see more of him in the next book, but I hope we get some more answers about Locke that might make things make more sense in the romance department. I know there was a lot going on very quickly in this story on purpose. I mean, all of the characters were on the run, so I do understand some of the haste, but I am kind of hoping things will slow down a bit in the next book so we can get to know the characters and learn a little more about each of the avatars. Overall, if you are a fan of fantasies featuring Roman gods like I am, and you like a fast paced book with plenty of action and romance, you will want to check out Battlefield Love. I am already itching to get my hands on the second book. I breezed through the first book much too quickly for my liking. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next. This was a very fun read!
