Such a good ending to the series. The last 40% of the book was a real rollercoaster, I could not put the book down.  I’m really gonna miss all the characters  :(

The final childhood reread of the series and I loved it! This book links the whole series together and the plot is well thought through and kept me guessing right up until the last second. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, even through the tear jerking moments and the wondering of what was going to happen in the tense situations.

I absolutely LOVE the Ruby Redfort series. It's one of my favorite series, mainly because Ruby is very relatable (I was exactly her age when I read the series), and I absolutely love mystery and code solving. Blink and You Die wasn't disappointing, as many finales often are. However I don't think it was my favorite one, my favorite had to be Feel the Fear of Pick Your Poison. Probably Pick Your poison. I like toxicology. Anyway, please please please read the series. Highly recommend.

so my reread of this series is now over. and while my opinions of the rest of the series have significantly changed, my opinion of this book has not changed at all.

This book is the best finale and the tension is so incredible, honestly, I think everyone should read this series as a middle-grade reader, if only for THIS FINALE.

and even despite the drama and crazy and sad and heartbreaking and thrilling stuff going else, this book is able to keep the lighthearted tone it has kept for the whole series. it is the perfect relief, and it works so well with the story.

this is one of the best books I read as a kid and I absolutely understand why I was so obsessed with it.

i'm going to be real honest here: i binge read the entire ruby redfort series in a week or two and i have no regrets.

i first heard about ruby redfort through an email from harper collins. i randomly requested blink and you die to review, and when i actually googled the book i thought i'd hate it. the author has written many children's books, and because of that, i assumed that the ruby redfort series would be to immature and i wouldn't like it. boy was i wrong. i haven't read such a good series in so long. i would like to personally thank kelly, from harper, for this book because damn. it's not everyday you read a book that has such an impact on you.

the first thing i'd like to point out in this review, that yes: this is a young adult series! just because the author mainly writes for children doesn't mean they can't branch out to older groups.

second, (and this one's very important okay): if you like ally carter's books then you should've read ruby redfort yesterday. no excuses. (seriously though, get on it already).

i rated this book 4 stars when i first finished it. it's been a week and i kinda want to rate it higher. like 10 stars higher. god bless good books.

blink and you die isn't the strongest book in the series. it was good, don't get me wrong. the plot was amazing, like always. it was complex, with many different twists. there are some mystery books where you figure out what's going to happen 100 pages before it does; then there's books like ruby redfort. and of course, anything by ally carter.

i can't believe ruby is only 13. i'm turning 21 soon and i'd never be able to do some of the things that she's doing.

at the start of the series, ruby is fairly immature. she's reckless and she doesn't think. (she actually thinks too much if you ask me, but she has no sense of safety). she just does things and hopes to not die. towards the end of the series, i respect her more. she realises the world doesn't revolve around her all the time (but it does like ninety two per cent of the time, you can count on that). she still takes a lot of things for granted, but she respects those around her a lot more.

hitch is one of my favourite characters. (i'm not going to lie here, i totally didn't think he was going to end up being a bad guy), (okay that's a lie. i suspected him at one point).

can we just stop and appreciate the male / female relationship that wasn't romantic!!!!!! clancy and ruby, the bestest of pals. they could go romantic in the future, but i loved how they were friends and that was that.

and. the parents?! ruby's parents are so bloody clueless, i love it. they don't know half of what's going on with their own daughter but they love her no matter what, and are so supportive of her. a lot of YA books completely neglect the parents, but i really enjoyed the family dynamic, including that with hitch and mrs digby. everyone's so kind to one another.

the ruby redfort series deserves more attention. i wish more people read these books. so. damn. good.

Ruby Redfort knows that LB- the respected boss of Spectrum 8 Bradley Baker, The most precious and accomplished secret agent. She can't alert the others because there is a high chance that they won't believe her. After all, she is just a thirteen year old. Ruby knows the Count is working for someone else. And that there an agent is helping him. It's time for Ruby to do some research and track down the traitor for once and for all.

This is so unexpected. That's all I can say after finishing this book. Over the course of the book, we learn about new villains and the flashbacks were too good. I'd say it's the best book in the series. I can't spoil the anything for you, but I'll tell you this much. Lauren Child doesn't disappoint you at all. In the end, all the previous books are connected to the finale and the loose ends are perfectly tied up. This is the best ending you could ever want to an epic series. I don't know if this is a spoiler, but I want to mention that I loved that the actual climax, action, and reveal happens in the last 20 pages of the book. (I'm not sure. I read it over a week ago) Every single good point about the previous books is imbibed into this one. It is irresistible, and you just can't put it down. The mystery is super hard, and I couldn't crack any of the mini cases before Ruby. (Maybe just because I'm stupid). The only part that I didn't enjoy was when the flashbacks kept coming every now and then but they weren't interesting. Maybe it's just me, but i would have appreciated those bits more if their importance was previously established. I'm a fan of Ruby Redfort and I'm obviously upset to say goodbye to her, but this is the best farewell I could hope for. And I'm looking forward to reading Clarice Bean!

Special Note-
As an author in progress, I've heard of a technique in which the writer drops bread crumbs aka clues, all leading to a major event. The plan is to get the reader to notice these, but not solve them before the protagonist does. Every now and then, you let the audience in the secret or they get bored. But here's why it works. Every time the reader thinks the crumbs are over and is read to close the book, the writer magically gets out more. If you've zoned out, what I mean is that this series (mainly book) is the perfect example. If you are a writer, there's definitely stuff that you can learn from it.
