Let's delve a bit deeper into "The Curse Keepers" by D.G. Swank.

First things first, I absolutely loved this book. I had the pleasure of receiving it in return for an honest review from Valentine PR as part of an upcoming release, and it was a fantastic introduction to D.G. Swank's writing.

"The Curse Keepers" is the first instalment in a series that weaves a captivating narrative around the Lost Colony of Roanoke and Native American Mythology. It's clear that Denise has put extensive research into creating this story, blending historical facts and fiction seamlessly. I found this unique approach to storytelling to be refreshingly original.

The novel introduces us to Ellie and Collin, our main characters and Curse Keepers. They are descendants of the original patriarchs who initiated a powerful curse to lock up the gods worshiped by the Native American tribes. However, in doing so, they inadvertently trapped themselves and much more. Their families, for over 400 years, have passed down the duties of being Curse Keepers, along with the rituals required to protect themselves from vengeful spirits and to prevent the gates of hell from opening.

Ellie and Collin are beautifully crafted characters, each with their own set of flaws and imperfections. It's these imperfections that make them relatable and draw readers into their struggles and trust issues. Ellie, in particular, is on a journey of self-discovery, evolving into the strong and independent woman she was destined to become. Collin, on the other hand, might come across as the flirtatious bad boy, but there's more depth to his character waiting to be uncovered.

While I found the beginning of the book a bit slow, I quickly realized that this deliberate pacing was necessary to lay the foundation for this intricate narrative. It allowed the story to build gradually and made the subsequent developments all the more impactful.

I must confess, my prediction about the ending was quite accurate (no spoilers here), and even though I was satisfied with being right, I also felt a tinge of surprise. The cliff-hanger ending left me eagerly awaiting the next book, which is already loaded on my Kindle.

In summary, "The Curse Keepers" is a fantastic read that I wholeheartedly recommend. It offers a unique blend of history, mythology, and well-developed characters that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Do yourself a favor and dive into this book; you won't regret it.
