I got this book for my monthly Audible selection, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have listened to it. If you’re interested in true crime, this is an excellent book for you!
It was really interesting to see how his community banded behind him, but not surprising. No one wants to believe that the all-American boy with the upstanding religious family could do anything wrong.
It is interesting how the victims were treated in the 70s and how slowly our society has evolved on that issue.
This does contain details about his rapes and murders, which might be a bit much for some listeners.

This was just an ok book for me, and maybe partially because of the narrator. I didn't feel like someone so "upbeat" should be narrating the story of rape and murder.

I got this one on a whim, not my typical genre, but thought I'd give it a listen. It isn't horrible, just not great.

Very interesting. It is violent. Discussed in detail of the rapes this man committed.

As despicable as his crimes were, you'll be more disgusted by how his church, the town mayor and other prominent town members threatened to smear his first victim, allowing him to get off easy and rape and murder several more women.

A serial killer hides in plain sight, yet most people think that it cannot be him. He was reformed. He was working to make something of himself. But, they were wrong. Those who had suspicions voiced them to authorities, but somehow he managed to elude the cops for several years.

I knew some of the facets of this case, but not all of them. Wow, just wow. I was blown away with the facts, and wondered how on earth this young man managed to evade capture for so long.

Great book for true crime lovers!
