As despicable as his crimes were, you'll be more disgusted by how his church, the town mayor and other prominent town members threatened to smear his first victim, allowing him to get off easy and rape and murder several more women.

A serial killer hides in plain sight, yet most people think that it cannot be him. He was reformed. He was working to make something of himself. But, they were wrong. Those who had suspicions voiced them to authorities, but somehow he managed to elude the cops for several years.

I knew some of the facets of this case, but not all of them. Wow, just wow. I was blown away with the facts, and wondered how on earth this young man managed to evade capture for so long.

Great book for true crime lovers!

The narrative was fine but the narrator read it like a shopping list.

I grabbed this book because of the title and because its included in audibles subscription service.

It is not so gripping that I will likely ever read it again but it made for a quick "while doing chores, walking and cooking" listen. Would have also made for a good road trip book, I really liked the narrator.

I was surprised to have never heard of Danny, he reminds me a lot of Larry Hall who I hadn't heard about until the Blackbird film and it wasn't until the end of that mini series that I found out it was based on the actual guy. These two seem to be very overlooked, lacking books, youtube videos and podcasts. Il be keeping an eye out to see if there is any more information floating around on Danny in the future.

This was a really interesting read,

Men have been raping and murdering women while the communities they live in rally around them and blame the victims since the dawn of time so I’m not sure why the author is surprised that Corwin’s community rallied around him.
