I loved it! It's ridiculously British. Though I figured out whodunnit early on, it was a lot of fun getting to the reveal at the end. What a great cast of characters! I'm excited to read more of these.

It's been a while since I settled down with a murder mystery, but I am glad I did.

Better than Whose Body?; mostly because of the more fleshed out characters. I guessed the Who fairly early, but not the How. Not that it mattered much, it's very much the journey not the destination with this one. The beginning of the Wimsey/Vane romance with this one; it was great to see them bounce off each other

I love Dorothy's humour and intelligence. It's a pleasure to read Wimseys.

Not a fan of instalove on Peter's part with a woman he hasn't even talked to, but Miss Climpson and Bill the reformed lock picker make up for it.  Very clever master.

Despite some things I didn't love about this book - the long exposition at the beginning of the book describing the case, over-reliance on dialog - I will probably read at least one more because of all the things I did like: dry humor; likable detective; rather clean, old-fashioned style. A murder-mystery writer whose latest book happens to be on a murder by poison is being tried for the murder by poison of her ex-lover. Amateur detective Peter Wimsey is convinced she's innocent. Plus he wants to marry her.
