Hemingway had the ability to let the space between words do the talking and these stories exhibit that excellently.

Across each of these tales there is something relatable to the reader as these are tales spun from the mind of a man who experienced the heart of the tale.

Lost loves, regret, alienation, life changing decisions and the unknown future.

It's all there.

Told in a simple and beautiful way these stories are approachable and worth revisiting.

Read several short stories while climbing Kilimanjaro - will likely not finish the collection.

Turns out great authors write a lot of pretty average stories too

I was reading this book for a class and only needed to finish a few stories from it. I wanted to read the rest just for the sake of it but I just didn’t have the time. I’d love to finish this collection someday; there are a few stories that I thought were absolutely brilliant.

In some ways maybe the ultimate Hemingway book of fiction, as it comprises the best and so much of the worst.

Great compilation of Hemingway's short stories, but I wish it was better organized then it is currently. I also wish they had included some of the unpublished fragments and short stories that have been discovered recently as most provide further insight into Nick Adams and the themes Hemingway explored. Still the collection included almost all of the short stories and is a great resource if you own it to go and find a story you want to rediscover.
