This book hit me like a ton of bricks. After reading romance novels, I'd forgotten what lovely, descriptive writing is like and was reading through tears halfway through the book.
Although I liked Love Walked In better than Belong to Me, I still thought this was a highly enjoyable and surprisingly captivating book. Focusing on Cornelia, Piper, and Dev was a little overwhelming after just Cornelia and Clare, but I still liked all of the characters. It was a fun read.
LOVED IT!!!!! An awesome sequel to her first. It was very involved and unpredictable. I would highly recommend it!
I just loved this book. It took a few chapters and some stage setting to hook me, but once it did, it had me. Something about it was so real.

This book might deserve a higher rating. It's a perfectly fine book I think. I just didnt vibe with it and had a hard time getting invested. I feel somewhat certain this was more of a problem with me, the reader, not an inherent problem with the book itself. Though I'm unsure if my frame of mind was off or if I'm just not the right audience for this book.
I did think some of the prose was very lovely. It was thoughtful and poetic without being overdone. And the found family/friendship/actual family themes were nice.

I absolutely loved it. I think I loved it even more than Love Walked In, which is saying a lot. What a wonderful writer. Dev is such a great character. She's become like Ann Patchett and Alice Hoffman for me -- must reads.
One of my favorite books.... I listened to it on audio and some of the languague is just so beautiful... I went and got a copy of the book to reread certain passages... Truly a book to remember.. the characters are well developed and likeable. The author definitely has a way with words.... I need to read Love Walked in - I did not realize that it contains some of the same characters- definitely on my list!
I loved the character development and the unexpected friendships that grew among the characters. I thought it was well written, however there were a few parts of the book I was uncomfortable with (language being one - some of the words once in awhile).
This book was relatively meh. It was cute, and the author did a good job of maintaining voice when switching characters (fairly often). The book seemed to wrap up a little too quickly for my liking, but it was definitely an okay book.
