OMG! This was a great surprise. A short story, but quite sweet and funny.
If you don't have any qualms about high school romance, go for it. I really enjoy the experiment, the flow of the story was really good and what can I say about Grayson Kennedy!!!

Kelly Orams Schreibstil hat mich wieder einmal absolut von sich überzeugen können. Ich konnte direkt in die Geschichte eintauchen und habe mich zwischen den Zeilen verloren. Innerhalb weniger Stunden hatte ich das Buch inhaliert und hätte es am liebsten direkt nochmal von vorne gelesen.
Ich fand die Mischung aus Ernsthaftigkeit und Humor wieder unglaublich gut und habe die gesamte Gefühlspalette durchlebt.
Avery hat mich von Anfang an von sich überzeugen können - sie ist eine ganz wundervolle Protagonistin, die sich einen Platz in meinem Herzen erschlichen hat. Ich mochte ihre Art und ihre Gedanken unglaublich gerne, habe mit ihr gelacht, geweint und geliebt.
Grayson hat mir mein Herz gestohlen und ich habe nicht vor, es mir nochmal wieder zu holen. Er ist ein wundervoller Protagonist und ich habe mich immer wieder darauf gefreut, wenn seine Kapitel kamen. Genau wie bei Avery hat er eine Art an sich, die mein Herz zum Schmelzen gebracht hat. Beide machen in diesem Buch Entwicklungen durch, die mich sehr überzeugen konnten und wachsen über sich hinaus.
Die Beziehung der beiden habe ich vom ersten Moment an genossen und saß oft breit grinsend auf meinem Bett. Sie habe eine tolle Dynamik zusammen und ich hätte noch ewig weiterlesen und mein Herz verlieren können.
Die Handlung hat mich ebenfalls von sich überzeugen können. Es war zu keinem Zeitpunkt langweilig, hat sich gezogen oder war zu überstürzt.
Das Ende hat mich absolut von sich überzeugen können und ich hatte wirklich Herzen in den Augen, als ich das Buch zugeklappt habe. Ich freue mich schon sehr auf "Das Libby Garrett Projekt" und werde so lange es noch nicht erschienen ist, nochmal zu Avery und Grayson abtauchen.

i can't rate this book properly because everything about it is ridiculous, from the characters to the premise and the writing (especially the writing), and YET i managed to read every page and i found myself strangely enjoying it. or at least enjoying how not good it was??? like objectively this is a 1 based on quality of writing but i had so much fun laughing at it that if i rated this based on enjoyment factor alone it would probably be a 2.5.
3.5 stars. Shorter than I expected, read this in a couple of hours. Enjoyed it for a light & fluffy read.

The Avery Shaw Experiment is a fun romantic comedy that was a pleasure to read.

I am not really into high school romance, but I chose it for the smart female lead and the shortness of the story, to help out with my reading challenge. I was ready to shelve it as dnf and instead it totally hooked me! I had to know what Avery and Grayson would have been up to, next!
The Avery Shaw experiment tells the story of how Avery got through her heartbreak, following her best friend’s Aiden rejection. Grayson, Aiden’s brother, 14 months their senior, ends up getting caught in the fallout and cannot help but stick around the help Avery work through her 7 stages of grief. With the added bonus of recovering from some terrible scores in physics and spending time with Avery, whom he is starting to see with different eyes, not anymore like his little brother’s shy best friend.
This book was a page turner for me. I was so curious about how Avery and Grayson would have interacted next.
There was a lot of damsel in distress, which I hardly find well written (either the lady seems too fragile or the gentleman seems too bossy), but in this case it totally worked for me and it made both of them quite adorable!
I loved how they mixed high school squads: the popular and the geeks, every once in a while.
The ending was a bit too movie-style for my liking: I could really picture them, superbly described as usual, though it felt a bit overdone.
