I really like this book. I like that Lyla finally decided to change and be bold. I like that Beck took care of her even if it meant losing something that he wanted. I like that he was able to help her out on her bucket list. I thought this story was sweet because Beck started out only wanting to help, but that led to each other loving the other one.

I love this book. I love Lyla so much and I love how quiet and shy she is. I love how she decides to step out of her comfort zone and makes a bucket list. I love how Beck is so determined to help her and how he goes out of his way to make sure she gets her bucket list complete. I felt bad for him when she hooked up with his teammate right in front of him. I thought it was cute and funny how oblivious she was to his attraction for her. I love how he finds out about her #7 on the list and how he becomes determined to help her. I love how she is able to have a good time with Beck after she was treated so badly by her ex. I love these two and I love their story. Definitely by far one of my favorite books. 10 stars!!

Getting Lucky Number Seven

I devoured Getting Lucky Number Seven in one sitting. It was angsty, relatable and packed an emotional punch. I really wasn't expecting it to affect me the way it did, I did not cry but it definitely made me feel. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of this author's work.

This book started out strong, but then I found the second half a bit dull and extremely predictable. Also, if I’m being honest, the sexual tension build up fell flat when it got to the actual smut, which was pretty lack luster for my personal tastes. And I wanted to like Beck, but he came across as such a basic bro that I found myself thinking Lyla deserved better.

I loved these two. A lot times when friends go to lovers, there’s a lot of push and pull and drama. Beck and Layla were funny and cute and slightly awkward. There was some drama but it wasn’t sure overwhelming.

First of all this book made me super happy and it was just such a good ol' 2014/15 tropy, cliché predictable type of romance.
And second of all it was basicaly The Deal by Elle Kennedy which I'm not complaining about at all because that book is my baby.

I wanted to read this book a while back but I forgot about it until it popped up on audible escape and I immediately recognized it and was very excited to get to it.
This book was such a typical NA college sports romance and I was living for it. It had the nerdy girl and the hot jock, of course the bucket list and it wouldn't be a 2015 book without the no strings attached/helping out my clueless but absolutely hot friend trope. And I was eating it up so much. It was so much like The Deal and it brought back all my wonderful memories about reading that book. This one wasn't as great but it still managed to make me smile and it was really enjoyable.

Lyla and Beck were very likable characters, I didn't have a problem with neither of them. Their friendship was cute and once they started their relationship I was rooting for them. They for sure had chemistry but I also really apprechiated their goofiness and banter. They were very natural together and I liked them a lot.

Like I said the plot was predictable but it was so much fun. I could tell exactly what was gonna go down but I didn't mind it at all. It got a liiittlee too similar to the deal at some points though.
Even though I am not a huge fan of angsty books and just basicaly pain for no reason, I wish there was just a tiiiny bit more of that. They got back together so fast. I really wanted a bigger fight scene and then just a bit more groveling and jealousy from Beck and more misery (but then girl power/ I don't need no man attitude) from Lyla.

But overall this book was exactly what I wanted it to be. It didn't disappoint and it didn't surprise. It was funny, short and very sweet and I had a great time with it.

I came across the blurb for this book during a facebook event last night & something about it just wouldn't let me pass it up. So, I hopped over to Amazon and hit the oh-so-handy 1-Click button. Then, right before bedtime, I thought...I'll just read a chapter. Hah! I read the whole book from cover to cover because the story was just THAT GOOD! Beck and Lyla share an amazing friendship & I think it's that level of intimacy that hooked me. Their story was humorous, and heart-warming. By the time I was done reading the book, my face hurt from smiling. I laughed out loud so many times (their song-sends me into fits of giggles just thinking about it) and actually cheered out loud when Beck groveled to get his girl back. If you're looking for a friends to lovers romance that will leave you with a smile on your face, look no further. Cindi Madsen has written a story that I'm going to enjoy reading again!

It was ok, I really liked Lyla and Beck, they were really cute. I didn't really like how the sex scene was written idk why, there was just something I didn't like.

Okay completely honesty, it's quite obvious this book is based on some well known romantic tropes. It hits on a lot of cliches. We have the troubled hero hiding his past that doesn't believe in love and wants unattached hook ups. We even have the secretly rich and powerful hero. We have the nerdy shy girl with the dramatic makeup that becomes a knock out. We have the friendship adding benefits turning into love. I mean if there were check boxes on romance Madsen hits a lot of them in this story.

We also have interesting and likable characters that I enjoyed spending time with. We have a fun story that as a reader made me smile filled with humorous moments that also made me laugh. And we had a hero that despite his faults was a little swoonworthy.

If you're searching for a literary masterpiece filled with original concepts this isn't the book you're looking for. However if you're looking for a fun, mostly light romance with enjoyable characters and an HEA I'd definitely recommend this one.
