I listened to this on LeVar Burton Reads podcast. It was long enough to require two parts, built still counts as short fiction.

Traditionally Wizard Timmon would be the protagonist/narrator, so it was quite fun to hear from the Thief Jayn what it's like to be a pawn in the powerful's game.
Not to say he's not good at what he does, but he is a bit dense when it comes to understanding the whims of wizards.
A bite sized adventure with a grand moral to be told.

A fairly solid compendium of short fantasy stories. I didn’t find myself taking down authors names and scurrying to see what else they had written, which is how I knew this wasn’t a 5 star but there’s still lots to enjoy. Any compilation that features Peter S. Beagle’s short story Two Hearts is worth checking out for that one alone.

Well, I was not terribly excited by the first few stories and admit that I skipped a couple. BUT THEN!!!!!!!!!! This is perhaps one of the best books ever. I'm almost done, and when I am, I will update this review by adding the titles of the most favourite stories of mine.

This book/short story was told during episodes 3 & 4 of 'LaVar Burton Reads.' I really enjoyed this particular story for several reasons. I liked that it took place in a fantasy world with wizards and such, but magic wasn't the driving force of the plot, and also because the story didn't have the ending I expected.
