I get that I am not the target audience and that I don't usually like boy books as much as girl books (probs because I am a girl?) but I am with Richards. I like Babymouse better. That being said, it was still cute and I will give to people, but I probs won't read the rest of the series. Unrelated: when do these Holm siblings sleep? How do they have multiple publications coming out every year?

If you read my reviews, you know I love historical fiction because it teaches history in a fun, exciting way. Squish does the same thing, but with science. Although science is not the main focus of the book, I love how the Holms throw in lessons throughout the graphic novel teaching the reader some really interesting things about biology. And the science experiment with Pod at the end is awesome! I wish I taught elementary just so I could use this book :)

My kids enjoyed it. Jon wants to read the rest of the series.

Super cute, clever and fun graphic novel. Anything that gets my kids to read and captures their attention is awesome in my opinion. My 8-year-old daughter adores these books and my 10-year-old son likes them too!

Yep, this is freakin' adorable and hilarious. What could possibly be bad about mixing icky amoeba science with elementary school problems? And with characters named Squish and Pod, and Peggy the freakishly upbeat Paramecium, Babymouse lovers will just be in heaven. The Holms did it again.

I liked how inexplicably happy the paramecium was.

Very cute, though I wonder if some of the humor will be lost on kids that haven't learned about these critters.

I happened upon this while checking items in at the library. It's humorous, and even has a little real science in it!

I've always thought amoebas were cool, probably mainly from Gary Larson's Far Side. Even though they cause some really awful things, like dystentery, I always enjoyed teaching about them. I like the way this book includes lots of educational info without being didactic. This book sneaks in some learning while kids can enjoy it. I see this as a great model to encourage kids to write their own protist (or other kingdom) comic strip/story. It has just the right humor.
