parts of this were transcendantly funny, mostly in the first half. still overall better than her first book and her entire show.

I so enjoyed this book. It was laugh-out-loud hilarious in multiple places. I especially loved the bit about the two prep school teachers. I want Mindy Kaling to write a thousand romantic comedies like that one.

To be clear, this is a three star book for ME. It’s clearly not written with middle aged men in mind as the target audience (she says as much at least twice), and that’s okay. Kaling writes well, but because my perspective is so different from hers I didn’t relate well to this. I’d imagine that many women would, though, so this isn’t an overall negative review.

Can We Be Friends
I have loved Mindy Kaling for a while now. And when I read her books, I totally believe we could be friends in real life. Her book flows like my conversations with my best friend - from totally random to completely profound.
The end of her book on confidence is a must read for any woman.
