Enjoyed some but was annoyed by, fanfic readings, inner dialog from Cath, her teacher/paper conflict, her need to tag everything. I enjoyed her characters honesty with new experiences, her struggle with a romantic relationship, her responsibilities and how she took control of them. She read much younger than she was in some ways and much older in others. Her college experience was very realistic, and honest. The college experience, is just so far behind me I wasn't that interested in reviewing it. I loved the idea that she wrote fanfic till it was read, too much for me. I never got interested in that story, it was wasted book space in my opinion. The romance was very PG, enough said. Yes, I know I am in the minority here.

Absolutely wonderful. I adored this book.

FANGIRL has it all. Three-dimensional characters that are loveable and believable, witty dialogue, and a cohesive plot that doesn't necessarily wrap everything up in a neat little bow.

This one is a favorite. Don't miss it! :)

My #1 comfort read of all time. Fangirl is the story of Cather, who is a fanfiction writer navigating her first year at college and her first year apart from her sister. This book deals with first relationships, developing friendships, and the struggle to discover yourself during your freshman year of college. Fangirl is such a raw accurate depiction of what it feels like to be in your first year of college. I think my first year, I read the book three times in a row because it felt so real to how I was feeling.

Not only is it a realistic and enjoyable novel, but the character's relationships are so charming and sweet. The love interest Levi can only be described as a Nick Miller type. He is so sweet, and the scenes of Cather reading to him are the peak of romance.
