An interesting futuristic story that feels incredibly black mirror that is accompanied by beautiful drawings throughout. The plot did feel somewhat confusing and it was as if there had been chunks of dialogue missing from one character to the next. A beautiful book and good read that could have ended triumphantly.

Did I judge this book by its cover? Yes. Of course, it's purple!

I am not sure what happened, nor am I sure about how it ended. Square Eyes was quite a confusing book. However, the artwork was beautiful, and the artwork/colour scheme kept me hooked.

If there were a sequel to Square Eyes, I would read it; the storyline reminded me of Paper Girls

I picked this up on recommendation from the partner of the author via his podcast on architecture. The plot was a bit opaque for me, which lost it a few points, but the art is so gorgeous, luscious, and lovely that I felt totally immersed and wrapped up in the world, and for that it felt totally a 4-star. It did feel like something I could re-read in a year or two and find even more depth waiting for me.

Really slow and kind of confusing. Maybe I'm just not in the mood for it. Beautiful art, though.
