I understand the appeal of this book; It’s comforting and calm with a great found family. However, I did not feel like enough happened throughout it for me. There was a lot of drag just from going through day to day events, and I was hoping for more in this department. It was written technically well.

2024/02/05: перечитала, змінила оцінку з 2 зірочок на 3, але, загалом, погоджуюсь зі своїм першим відгуком. це дуже проста історія без сюжету (ну майже). тобто вся книжка - це буквально процес заснування орчинею Вів власної кав'ярні в новому містечку, все. ну і одна невеличка екшн сцена майже в самому кінці, хоча я вже думала, що навіть цього не буде, якщо чесно.

комфортна і затишна історія, але занадто ніяка, ну типу, тут навіть романтики умовних 3 сторінки лише. а ще зовсім проста мова, ніби це хтось написав оріджинал на ваттпаді, ще й оці коротенькі розділи і навіть речення. прочитати можна, але я не те щоб раджу.

натомість я б з задоволенням прочитала якесь отаке фентезі в отакому затишному сетингу, але щоб там ще й сюжет був, і персонажі цікаві, ну а якщо ще любовна лінія гарна, то взагалі вау. тому якщо знаєте щось таке і можете порадити, пишіть!


2022/11/09: the premise of this book was really interesting to me, because i love cozy stories, but in fact it turned out being just... boring. it felt like the author just had to write some amount of pages, so that's what they did, and they didn't care about story, dialogues or characters. all of those were flat and blank. this book reminded me a lot of a bad fantasy Hallmark movie (and i love good Hallmark movies). that's the second book disappointment in a row, ugh.

It was a nice cozy book to fit in with the fantasies I usually go for. It was a lighter book and a good go between. I don’t usually read many character driven books but it was a good one.
