Very sweet story with lovable characters. If you like the world of dnd but are looking for a calmer take this is the perfect book for you.

This book was so sweet and cozy, like a big hug for the soul!

I liked the descriptiveness of the scenes and genuinely enjoyed the slow and steady pace. The pieces fall together for Viv one by one at a comfortable pace as she collects people to her new life. I've never been more excited to hear about someone working a day job before!

As advertised High Fantasy, Low Stakes.  A very pleasant read with some great characters.  Super fun and cute.  I would happily live in this world.  The pace is nice thought it does feel slow at times.  A very cozy read.  Knowing it was lower stakes made you feel no tension when things moved.  It is almost slice of life more than anything.  Overall a fun easy read.

There is a reason this was nominated as best Fantasy in 2022, because it is fantastic! It is fun! It is a cozy little monster book you have been waiting for! It is a character driven cozy fantasy with all the fixings of found family, LGBTQ+ and enlightenment. It is the epitome of “Cozy Fantasy”, and I loved it!
I bought this eBook forever ago and it just set in my kindle. I’m disappointed with myself that I didn’t read this sooner. I am getting the audible version of the second book that come out!

It was super fun to watch things that we see everyday be described as a brand new invention or in a more archaic form. It has a coziness that I can’t discern is the author’s style or the content within. I love that there are hints of romance, but that this book is more about a sense of self discovery and finding that you can find yourself in the small things instead of the action packed days. There were times where I was sick to my stomach with worry, heart clench in yearning, and caught in fits of giggles. Out of every character that was introduced, there are only two I do not like! I want all of my friends to read this book and be transported into the little world the author created. I am hesitant to start the next book because I think this book deserves digesting alone without its companion.

Apparently “cozy fantasy” is not my vibe
