While very informative and dense (I'm sure I'll reference it later), the author has a bad habit of repeating herself for about a paragraph on several points. As a result, the book is at least 40% longer than it needs to be . Perhaps the sentences are subtle variations I cannot decipher, but to me, it's four sentences in a row that say the same thing.

Informative and entertaining. The science and psychology behind making friends and sustaining and improving relationships.

I learned so much! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was my poor distracted brain couldn’t handle all the jokes sprinkled among the information. Listening to it on audiobook really helped with that.

When I started this book, I didn’t think I’d get much out of it because the opening focused on the need to not view romantic relationships as the end all be all and prioritize friendship, but there’s still a lot to get out of this book for people who already prioritize friendship.

The takeaways at the end of each chapter are a great snapshot. Reading the whole book isn’t necessary to get the key lessons from it. I’d recommend reading the whole thing if you’re interested in psychology because there’s quite a few different studies discussed in each chapter. Personal stories are also included throughout which gives a more human element to the book so it’s not all facts and figures.
