Platonic: How the Science of Attachment Can Help You Make and Keep Friends
by Marisa G. Franco
informative
inspiring
medium-paced
When I started this book, I didn’t think I’d get much out of it because the opening focused on the need to not view romantic relationships as the end all be all and prioritize friendship, but there’s still a lot to get out of this book for people who already prioritize friendship.
The takeaways at the end of each chapter are a great snapshot. Reading the whole book isn’t necessary to get the key lessons from it. I’d recommend reading the whole thing if you’re interested in psychology because there’s quite a few different studies discussed in each chapter. Personal stories are also included throughout which gives a more human element to the book so it’s not all facts and figures.
