I loved this book! Friendships are something I’m trying to center more in my life right now, and it felt like the right time of my life to read this book. Society doesn’t value friendships as much as it values romantic and familial relationships. It’s easy to let friendships fall to the wayside. This book offers a practical guide to strengthening friendships. It’s evidence based and also has plenty of stories and examples. It’s easy to understand, and this makes the book even more reflective. As I was reading, I reflected a lot on my own experiences with friendship throughout my life. I feel like I understand why some friendships in my life didn’t work out. It also gave me so many ideas of ways to deepen my relationships. I definitely recommend this book!!
good info in the first half about attachment styles. second half was less enjoyable.

If this is the first time you're reading a book about attachment style therapy or attachment style relationships, I think that it would be really deep and meaningful. I found the book very informative and I thought that the psychology elements were explained fairly well and easily for anybody to understand. If you have insecure attachment styles, I think this book may bring up a lot of triggers because it talks about how people with those particular types of attachment styles have difficulty maintaining friendships. I think this book gives you tools to work on friendships and make friends and deepen existing relationships. Overall, I thought this was a really interesting book and definitely fun to read with friends and then discuss what types of things you would like in your friendships. I think this book really helps facilitate conversations between friends to increase intimacy.

⭐️- didn’t enjoy it, would warn others against
⭐️⭐️ - okay but had a few issues
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - enjoyed it while reading but won’t think about again
When i first started this book it made me feel so cozy! Loved reading about how friends enrich your life and the benefits the bring and how important it is to nurture your relationships and communities. It definitely inspired me.
However, as the book went on i found it very repetitive, the later chapters could have been condensed down a lot and i found they were full of stories and quotes that didn’t necessarily add to the point.
It’s a shame as it started off really well. I probably wouldn’t dnf-ed towards the end but i read this as part of a book club so had to finish it.
